Admissions Process

St. Louis Catholic Academy (SLCA) is committed to providing a faith-filled, academically rigorous, and supportive learning environment for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Admission is based on a holistic review of each applicant’s academic record, attendance, behavior, and family commitment to our school’s mission.

St. Louis Catholic Academy will admit students of any race, religion, color, or national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at our school. St. Louis Catholic Academy will not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, or ethnic origin in admissions policies, scholarships, athletics, or other school-administered programs.

General Admissions Requirements (All Grades) 

To be considered for admission, families must submit the following required documents: 

● Completed application form 

● Report card from the most recent school year 

● Any applicable IEP/504 documentation 

● Standardized assessment results 

● Discipline file (if applicable) 

● Birth certificate 

● Updated shot records 

● List of any medications with a physician’s statement (if applicable) 

○ Include action plans for asthma or allergies 

● Parent/legal guardian identification and required paperwork 

Grade-Specific Admission Requirements 

Kindergarten (Kdg) 

● Must have completed an early childhood program 

● Must be 5 years old by July 30 

● Must complete a school readiness assessment 

● Student and parent/guardian interview required 

● Full documentation submission as outlined above

 

Grades 1-5 

● Must have at least 90% attendance from the previous school year 

● Must complete a grade-level assessment 

● Student and parent/guardian interview required 

● Must be performing at or above grade level (based on assessment, report card, and internal interview) 

● Discipline report reviewed 

● Participation in a shadow day may be required 

● Full documentation submission as outlined above 

 

Grades 6-8 

● Must have at least 90% attendance from the previous school year 

● Must complete a grade-level assessment 

● Student and parent/guardian interview required 

● Must be performing at or above grade level (based on assessment, report card, and internal interview) 

● Discipline report reviewed 

Written Essay: “Why I Want to Attend St. Louis Catholic Academy” 

● Full documentation submission as outlined above 

Additional Considerations 

● SLCA reserves the right to review all applications on an individual basis to ensure alignment with the school's mission and values. 

● Admission is contingent upon the completion of all required steps, including submission of documents, assessments, and interviews. 

● Families must demonstrate a commitment to SLCA’s academic and behavioral expectations. 

 

Waiting Lists 

In the event that a grade reaches its maximum number of enrolled students, a waiting list will be established for any later applicants. If openings become available, those students on the waiting list who have completed the school's application process will be accempted.
